It is aimed at doctoral graduates or people about to be awarded a doctorate who are wondering about their professional future. PhD members are invited to make the Doctoral Handbook widely known.

The Doctoral Handbook, by PhDs, for PhDs

ANDès, with the strength of the diverse experiences of its members, acts by means of this Doctoral Handbook for the integration of new PhD holders into the network of doctors and provides them with useful information for the pursuit of their careers. After conducting research work, the aim is to enhance the value of professional experience and the doctoral diploma, the highest internationally recognised national diploma.
Staff from research units, doctoral schools and doctoral colleges, institutions awarding the doctorate, employers of doctoral students, doctoral directors and other colleagues are invited to make the Doctoral Handbook known to recently graduated doctors, as well as to doctoral students, or even candidates for entry to the doctorate in France, who are wondering about their professional future.

A set of practical information sheets for the post-doctoral period

The Doctoral Handbook, a practical guide for post-doctoral studies, consists of two-sided cards divided into three categories : “Careers’, “References” and “Tools”.

Doctors use their skills in a wide variety of jobs in all socio-professional sectors. The 4 Career Sheets of the Doctoral Handbook present the specificities of pursuing a career: In the public sector, academic or not, or in the private sector; on research or non-research activities; in France or internationally.

All professional horizons are open to PhDs.In order to help you better define your post-doctoral professional project, the 3 Reference sheets from the Doctoral Handbook give you some figures to help you locate new graduates in the doctoral network, as well as the vocabulary specific to different sectors of activity that you need to master for an effective job search.

Looking for a job is a process that is prepared beforehand and built up as you apply. The 6 Tool Sheets of the Doctoral Handbook cover the essential tools to transform the job search into hiring.

Do a postdoc

A postdoctoral job is a fixed-term job that allows a young doctor to conduct research work different from that of his thesis, to expand his publications and to diversify his CV with a view to recruitment by a university, institute or company.

Universities and research centres (public or private) offer postdoctoral jobs and publish their offers on their websites.

A postdoctoral activity abroad is an additional asset.
