Annual Enrolment

Enrolment as a PhD student happens in two parts: You must register both in the DS BMIC and in a higher education and research institution.

These two enrolments must be renewed every year.

Re-enrolment at BMIC is conditional each year on the presentation of a proof of funding covering the coming year (or until the date of the viva for the final year of the thesis) and the report of the thesis monitoring committee for the past year.

Documents to be signed in the 1st year : Students enrolled in the first year must sign the Rules and Regulations and the UDL PhD charter:

► BMIC Rules and Regulations

► Charte du Doctorat de l'Université de Lyon

► PhD Charter of the Universite de Lyon

Thesis registration is possible all year round. PhD students who will defend from 1st October will have to re-enrol for 2023/2024.

Enrolment is done via the SIGED application. A login and a password are sent to you by e-mail at the beginning of your thesis by the doctoral school so that you can connect to your personal online space. You will be asked to fill in as much information as possible about your application (type of funding, source of funding, thesis director, laboratory, etc.).

Once your online file is completed, it must be validated by the thesis director, then by the doctoral school. You will then be able to print your application form and bring it with any supporting documents required by the doctoral studies department of your institution. Please note that 1st year doctoral students must also attach to this file the Thesis Charter signed by yourself and your thesis director.
